Clinical Negligence success story 2016

A 74 year old lady received substandard treatment from a Hospital Trust during the period of time that she was an inpatient.  During her inpatient stay she was not provided effectively with food and drink causing her significant pain, unhappiness and suffering. She also developed severe bedsores as a result of the medical staff's breach of duty of care.

Whilst there was no admission on the part of the Trust that their treatment had contributed or accelerated the eventual death of the lady they did, eventually and after the commencement of proceedings, admit liability in relation to the unacceptable quality of life she suffered prior to her death. Garratts were successful in obtaining a sum of £12,500 for the family.
