The ideal candidate will have experience of handling a mixed private family caseload including divorce and financial matters, private children matters and injunctions. The candidate will be responsible for running files from initial instructions through to final order/completion under the supervision of the Head of Department.
The candidate will also have the following skills:
- Excellent communication skills via phone, email and face to face.
- Good IT skills including being able to draft witness statements, being competent creating court bundles, using the HMCTS portal and using a case management system.
- Experience of the Legal Aid portal and an understanding of the means / merits Legal Aid eligibility criteria is desirable.
- The ability to work to tight deadlines.
- The ability to cope under pressure.
There may also be the opportunity to attend client appointments and sit behind Solicitors or Counsel at court hearings for the right candidate.
