Garratts have successfully secured compensation for a man who was incorrectly diagnosed with Crohn's Disease. He incorrectly received treatment for Crohn's disease over a number of years.
Despite making continued complaints about his condition, no alternative diagnosis was made nor was any appropriate test or investigation conducted. Eventually, he was admitted to hospital and taken for emergency surgery when a scan revealed that he had blockages in his bowel and colon. During surgery sections of both his bowel and colon were removed and replaced with an ilestemy bag. Subsequently, the client recovered sufficiently for the procedure to be reversed. Compensation was secured in the sum of £7,000.
