Fundamental dishonesty rules come into force

New rules designed to tackle fundamental dishonesty in personal injury claims have come into effect this week, along with a ban on inducements in personal injury claims.

The new rules on fundamental dishonesty were included in section 57 of the Criminal Justice and Courts Act, which received royal assent in February this year. Under the new rules, courts will have the power to dismiss a case if a claimant is found to be 'fundamentally dishonest'.
