Family Safety Week 2020

Family Safety Week 2020

This week (30th March – 3rd April 2020) is the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accident’s (RoSPA) ‘Family Safety Week’ and the focus is on childhood accidents.

RoSPA confirms that accidental injuries are a major public health problem for the whole of the UK, and they are one of the most common causes of death in children over the age of one. Every year, they leave many thousands of children permanently disabled or disfigured. And it is the under-fives who are most at risk; on average, about 60 under-fives die as the result of an accident each year, and of the 89,000 0-14-year-olds who are admitted to hospital for treatment, just under half of these are under-five.

Whilst accidents do happen and some cannot and will not be avoided, there are lots of accidents which could be avoided.

Here at Garratts we have acted on behalf of many children where accidents could have been prevented and therefore where injury could have been avoided. Our Personal Injury team are extremely experienced in assisting in what can be a very traumatic time. If you believe you have a potential claim please contact us on 0161 665 3502 to discuss further.
