Pneumonia Misdiagnosis/Treatment

Pneumonia Misdiagnosis/Treatment

Mr G pursued a claim on behalf of his deceased mother, Mrs G.

Mrs G attended the Accident and Emergency Department feeling unwell. Over a number of days Mrs G’s condition worsened until she sadly passed away. The cause of death was pneumonia.

The hospital should have identified the condition and treated Mrs G with antibiotics. There was not only a failure to provide antibiotics, but Mrs G’s fluid balance and blood gases should have been carefully monitored. Had appropriate treatment been provided, Mrs G would have made a full recovery and she would not have passed away when she did.

Mr G was successful in obtaining £2,500 on behalf of the Estate.
