Today marks the end of an era as Stephen Garratt retires from the Firm.
Stephen has come a long way in his career. At his first job, Stephen always had a cream cake after his lunch. On one occasion he came through a heavy fire door and did not anticipate how forcefully the door would shut. He was not quick enough and wore his cream cake for the remainder of the day! During one of his first addresses to a Judge, so engrossed was he during his closing speech that he concluded with ‘good night, God bless’!
Garratts was established over forty years ago and began with just Stephen! Stephen has always been devoted to achieving the best for his clients and the Firm has continued to flourish (now having six offices). He has always encouraged and took part in various staff events including outings to the theatre, taking part in the Oldham Law Association quiz night,
helping to raise money on our charity nights, and even taking part in the colour blast run.
Stephen has always looked after his staff. One year during heavy snow, Stephen collected two staff members, allowed them to work for a few hours, before taking them home again!
We will miss Stephen’s wisdom, dedication and of course his wonderful singing (including personal renditions of Happy Birthday and the annual festive songs)!
Stephen, you have completed a successful career. It is now time for a well-deserved rest and relaxation.
From friends old and new, happy retirement Stephen from all at Garratts.
