Supporting vulnerable adults suffering from Dementia and Alzheimer's is something that is close to our hearts at Garratts.
Living with dementia and dementia-related illnesses such as Alzheimer’s places a huge level of stress on the sufferer and their family. A wide variety of factors can cause dementia, and the illness can bring with it a range of specific legal considerations which require specialist knowledge to handle.
At Garratts, we have a trained COPE team specialising in helping dementia sufferers and their families navigate the minefield of legal considerations following a dementia diagnosis.
Antony Brannick's Fundraising Concert
Given our focus on helping dementia sufferers and their families, everyone here at Garratts was delighted to hear about the efforts of one of the Associates, Antony Brannick, within his local community to help raise funds for Dementia Friendly Todmorden. Antony is a passionate musician and help a concert in September to raise money for this wonderful cause.
Antony commented:-
It was a real privilege and pleasure to be involved in such a worthwhile cause and we had a huge amount of enjoyment preparing for and performing in our concert, that hot September evening!! I was delighted with the sum raised given that admission was on a “Pay what you feel” basis. Obviously the audience felt great!!
Saturday was a really inspiring day – especially when I learned that many of the volunteers who had been present that morning were going to go straight off afterwards to run a similar social event in another neighbouring town – what a selfless commitment!
Funds Raised and Community Benefits
The efforts of Antony helped raise £500.00 for a local charity, and it is fantastic to be able to see directly the items that are being purchased to help sufferers within the community.
A huge congratulations from all of your colleagues at Garratts!
