In March 2024 a further report was released by Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust. The report known as the 'Breen Report', produced by barrister, Carlo Breen reinforced previous concerns about treatment and surgery provided and performed by Spinal Surgeon, John Bradley Williamson.
The report highlights many concerns about the treatment and surgery provided/performed by the Spinal Surgeon and the culture of the Trusts he worked for. This has led to significant pressure from several individuals and organisations for full patient recalls to be carried out.
Mr Bradley Williamson worked at Manchester Children’s Hospital, Salford Royal Hospital and Spire Manchester Hospital from the late 1990s until 2015.
Whilst the pressure is mounting for full patient recalls, it remains to be seen whether this will be too significant a task for the organisations involved.
