The Claimant was instructed by his supervisors to carry a large container of hot sauce. He would usually have carried the same sauce when cold, nevertheless, he was instructed by Management along with a colleague, that the sauce was to be carried. When lifting the container filled with the sauce, the Claimant lost his grip which caused the container to fall and the hot contents to spill onto his right leg and cause him severe burns. The Claimant was left with permanent scarring.
The Claimant was warned by the owners of the company not to bring a claim and dismissed. He struggled without income from any employment for many months and developed severe psychological symptoms.
Eventually, the Claimant, guided by his family, instructed Garratts Solicitors' Personal Injury department who successfully brought a claim for compensation against the employer with a compensation of £20,000, including unpaid wages.
