Garratts have successfully obtained £15,000 in compensation for their Client (W) who was subjected to negligence by her local hospital.
W had severe Endometriosis and required specialist surgery for the same. She was told in no uncertain terms that a specialist Endometriosis Surgeon would need to perform the surgery. She was then admitted to hospital for the surgery and the same was then abandoned on the basis that a more specialist surgeon was required. Unbeknown to W, a general Gynaecology surgeon was going to be dealing with the surgery and then noted that this was not appropriate (something that W knew all along). Frustratingly, therefore, W had to wait a further, significant period of time which meant that her symptoms persisted for a longer period.
Garratts obtained supportive medical evidence on W’s behalf and obtained an early admission from the Defendant Trust which led to a swift settlement. W was awarded £15,000 for her injuries.
