The Link Between and Inquest and Clinical Negligence

The Link Between and Inquest and Clinical Negligence

Our team within the Clinical Negligence Department have a vast range of knowledge when it comes to supporting families with the process of Inquests.

While an inquest itself does not determine civil or criminal liability, it can be an essential part of the process for families considering a Clinical Negligence Claim on behalf of their loved one.

During the Inquest which is undertaken by a Coroner, key documents such as medical records, expert reports, and internal organisation reviews are disclosed.

Doctors, Nurses and other members of staff  may be required to give evidence under oath as this allows a clear picture of the care pathway and allows the family to answer any questions they may have relating to the care/treatment their loved one received.

At Garratts Solicitors we understand that attending an Inquest can be daunting, particularly in the midst of bereavement and our experienced clinical negligence team can provide you with the guidance you need.

If you have lost a loved one in medical circumstances and are unsure whether an inquest will be held or, you require any guidance our team is here to support you every step of the way.
