Mr D attended the Manchester Children’s Hospital following an injury on his bicycle. There was a failure to perform an Ultrasound examination which led to a delay in diagnosing a duodenal perforation requiring surgery.
It was a number of days later Mr D represented to hospital where his condition was appropriately diagnosed and thereafter treated. By this point Mr D’s symptoms had increased in severity.
