Garratts Solicitors are pleased to have secured a £7,000 settlement on behalf of Ms P following a dispensing error that occurred in November 2021.
The error arose when Ms P was mistakenly provided with Eplerenone instead of her routine prescription for Exemestane. Unaware of the mistake, she took 11 doses of the incorrect medication before realising the error. During this time, she suffered from severe nausea, loss of appetite, and general malaise.
In addition to the physical effects, the incident caused significant psychological distress for Ms P.
Although the Defendant admitted the dispensing error, they disputed both causation and the extent of the psychological injury, arguing that any side effects were short-lived.
Despite these challenges, Garratts Solicitors successfully negotiated a £7,000 settlement without the need for court proceedings. This outcome reflects our commitment to resolving clinical negligence claims efficiently and amicably.
