Garratts were happy to participate in the Willow Wood Wills Scheme back in April 2021 via our offices at Ashton and Stalybridge. All Wills have now been finalised and we are pleased to confirm that a total of £2,000 was raised which was presented to Willow Wood by Jill Latimer in our Wills & Probate Department. Thank you to all who participated in the scheme.

Garratts have successfully obtained compensation for their client who was misdiagnosed following an initial X-Ray.

We recently settled, after commencement of Proceedings, a case on behalf of the Estate of Mr H who was subject to various investigations including CT scans over a period of four months for breathlessness and significant weight loss.  Four months after the initial investigations and CT scans, a final CT scan led to a definite diagnosis of lung, liver and bone cancer but only hours before Mr H died.

Lexcel is the Law Society's legal quality mark for excellence in legal practice management. The assessment took place remotely this year, given the current Covid situation.

Our Client Ms S underwent an operation to repair an aneurysm in hospital. After the procedure she discovered not only the fact that she had the expected scar from the entry point on the top of her head (which was covered by her hair) but a more apparent scar above her left eye which could not have occurred during the procedure itself. A claim for Damages was successfully pursued against the Hospital Trust on the basis that the injury was caused as a result of negligent treatment by the use of an incorrect type of bandage or the bandage being applied too tightly.
