Successful challenge to a retrospective licence of alterations charge.

We recently acted on behalf of a client who was the beneficiary under a will. The executor of the will had taken from the estate of the deceased a sum of upwards of £30,000 that our client would have otherwise been entitled to. Garratts were able to recover this money, in full, with liability having been admitted after formal letter of claim.

Mrs S had been diagnosed with a duodenal ulcer which was treated with clipping. It was later noted that her stomach was blocked. Several errors made from this point lead to the patient sadly losing her life.
