I am an Associate Solicitor within the firm’s Care Department and an accredited member of the Children Panel.
Having previously practised for over 20 years in family law I have been working exclusively in public law family proceedings involving children since joining the firm in January 2017. I regularly represent parents and other family members in court in care proceedings and associated matters such as adoption. This can involve cases where there are issues of neglect and domestic abuse including violence and the various other forms of abuse including physical and sexual abuse of children. Such matters can be complex and demanding and the firm aims to offer a sympathetic and yet robust approach, focussing on the welfare of the child or children concerned.
Outside work my interests are mainly in the field of classical music as a pianist, choral singer and as Musical Director of Todmorden Choral Society.
